This authentic shochu was founded in 1820 by Shokichi Yamanaka of Hino-cho, Gamo-gun, Shiga Prefecture, who established a sake brewery at the foot of present-day Fuji in 1831. This authentic shochu is made from sake lees, as only a sake brewery can. This shochu has a pleasant, gentle taste derived from the underground water of Mt.Fuji.
It has a non-habitual taste and a subtle aroma reminiscent of sake. It can be enjoyed in various ways, such as on the rocks or in hot water, but we highly recommend trying it straight. It can be stored at room temperature.
